LYNDE and LYNDS Genealogy
Thomas Lynde Thomas Lynde was born in England 1593/1594. He had at least three wives. Mary (Lynde>), Margurite Martin and Rebecca Trerice. Thomas with his wife Margurite and sons Thomas and Henry, came to America on the ship Griffin which arrived in Boston on September 18, 1634. Thomas settled in the Charleston area.
Jacob Lynds Jacob Lynds was the great-great grandson of Thomas Lynde. It was with Jacob's family that the Lynde became Lynds. Jacob and his family moved from Malden, Massachusetts to become an early settler in Onslow, Colchester County, Nova Scotia about 1761. He was married to Mary Gould. Jacob moved from this area to Fort Belcher and remained there until his death in 1768.
